The Business Entity

Working as part of the Global Services organization, the role of DC CE involves delivery of both transactional and subscription projects to strategic customers throughout the EMEAR theatre. Projects vary considerably between DC reviews; design and implementation of Cisco DC products; and involvement as part of virtual multi-discipline teams as the Datacenter lead in large-scale design and implementation projects.

Job Description

Engineers need to conduct information gathering workshops with customer to understand their existing network infrastructure and technical necessities of new network designs. They also need to know their network implementation, organizational structure and support processes for guiding network design by understanding and developing solutions, and guiding in implementation so that it meets design specifications and plan.

They must test new designs, features, and functionality in a pre-production environment. Engineers implement and verify on the live network, and test patches and fixes to operating software to confirm proper functionality on the live network.

They resolve issues with equipment and network, open and track TAC (technical assistance center) cases until they fix problems, raise equipment RMAs (Return to Manufacturer Authorizations) to track through troubleshooting, document status reports regularly of design projects, equipment and network problems for clients, arrange workshops with customer to communicate about equipment and network problems, provide updates on case status, develop procedures for operating network and equipment, educate customer on design, support staff to configure and operate network products, and regularly interact with internal engineering and QA Sys Test Teams.

Required Skills

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in network Consulting or operations support environment.
  • Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
  • Large-scale network operation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability & capacity planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) technology.
  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco Nexus Datacenter switching.
  • Excellent knowledge of routing and switching.
  • Excellent knowledge of security architecture and products .
  • In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability & capacity planning.
  • Very Strong Consulting and communication skills
  • CCIE Datacenter LAB certification CCIE DC is expected or an equivalent work experience to demonstrate the expertise.
  • Good knowledge of UCS and Data Center Management
  • Good experience in Cisco Data center firewalls and IPS
  • Excellent knowledge of NGFW (FTD and ASA) and IPS products.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • CEs are expected to be able to take the lead role in projects, possibly managing less experienced engineers to ensure a successful outcome to the project.
  • Responsibility for delivery of both subscription project
  • Lead implementation of recommendations based on best practice on large infrastructure, and develop procedure to minimize service impact.
  • Work as part of a team of highly skilled engineers working daily at the end customer premises to support its network infrastructure and representing Cisco.
  • Develop design (HLD, LLD) and implementation (NIP, NRFU, NMP) technical documentation for customer at high-standards of quality and following cisco templates and procedures.
